Earth Day and Easter Celebrations This Weekend!!!

Happy Good Friday! Happy Earth Day! Happy early Easter! Goodness there sure is a lot going on this weekend, and events for the entire family are in ample supply! We’re glad you checked here first before making your plans, because as always, we have discovered multiple events you don’t want to miss this weekend! :-)

First of all, I found out kids are able to take pictures with the Easter Bunny at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. I had no idea the Easter Bunny was even available to be captured on film with happy children! Look out Santa, you’ve got some competition for popularity! The Easter Bunny will be available in the spring garden on Atrium Lawn, and should be available from 11am-6pm all weekend. Click here for more information.

In honor of Earth Day, the 4th Annual Car Free Day  event will be held on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angles at 6pm this evening. Attendees can look forward to a special showing of the director’s cut of Avatar on the lawn, face painting, tree adoption, various speakers, and so much more! Bring your old electronics (such as TVs, computers, monitors, etc.) to be recycled as well! Visit the Wilshire Center Website for details.

On Saturday, Orange county Marketplace’s 5th Annual Easter Festival and Treasure Hunt will be held at the O.C. Fair and Event Center from 9:30am – 2:30pm. This sounds like it going to be a ton of fun! Free treasure hunts with special prizes, free puppet shows, free face painting and balloons, free crafts, and free photos with the Easter Bunny (he’ll be here too!!) makes for a delightful Saturday event for all the kids!

And the final event of particular importance to myself, is Long Beach Cinematheque’s The Sound of Music Sing-Along, showing in the Art Theatre in Long Beach. I have a special place in my heart for musicals, and this sounds like an excellent way to celebrate such a love! In addition to the special sing-along showing of this classic film, the Art Theatre will also be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt that starts for the kids at 1:15pm, as well as a costume contest!!! So grab your Easter basket and your favorite Austrian costume, warm up your voice on the way, and belt out your favorite tunes for this oh-so-fun celebration!

This concludes our favorite events for this weekend, but we’re certain there are about a bajillion amazing things that are going on, and we want to hear all about your adventures come Monday! So be sure to stop back by here and let us know what you ended up doing!
